To Stay or Not to Stay

Remodeling a kitchen can be an expensive investment. Often this decision is coupled with the option to just move. Would it be better to look for another house which could better suit the family’s needs? Important factors should be considered for sure when facing this decision. When considering remodeling, the National Kitchen and Bath Association suggests investing approximately 10%-25% of the value of your home.

For example, if a home is valued at $500,000 it would be wise to set the range of the investment in the remodel of the kitchen between $50,000-$125,000. Most homeowners have spent many years and created many memories raising their family in this home. This is certainly the case for this family. To them the choice was an easy one–remodel the kitchen. Oh, and did I mention the full pipe organ located in the balcony overlooking the living room? This is only one of the many musical instruments nested peacefully in their home. This family will be content right where they are for years to come especially since all their kitchen design and storage needs were met throughout the design process.
